1. Who we are
Desksquattaz is a Windows desktop application operated by Willy Lu Wang, Hermann-Müller-Würtz-Straße 36, 76189 Karlsruhe, Germany — hello@desksquattaz.com.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are between 13 and 17, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By subscribing, you confirm you are authorised to use the payment method you provide.
3. Acceptance
By downloading or using Desksquattaz, or by creating an account on desksquattaz.com, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the product.
4. Account
You are responsible for securing your Apple or Google sign-in. Notify us at hello@desksquattaz.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Important: Your subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel before the renewal date. Cancel at desksquattaz.com/account (billing portal) or by emailing us.
- Paid access requires an active monthly subscription purchased on desksquattaz.com.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled.
- After cancellation you keep access until the end of the current billing period.
- No cancellation fees.
- Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. We do not sell via app stores.
- Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
6. Right of withdrawal (EU / EEA)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. By completing checkout and requesting immediate access, you waive that right under Article 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive and §356(5) BGB, as confirmed by the checkbox at subscription. If you did not receive immediate access, contact hello@desksquattaz.com.
7. Artificial intelligence disclosure (EU AI Act Art. 50)
- You interact with an AI system, not a human. Chat shows a permanent AI indicator.
- Models may be provided by third parties (e.g. OpenAI, Google). They have their own GPAI obligations.
- Desksquattaz is a limited-risk entertainment AI system. It is not high-risk under Annex III (no biometric ID, credit scoring, employment screening, etc.).
- Not professional medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Desksquattaz for unlawful purposes.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or desktop integrations.
- Circumvent safety or crisis routing.
- Harass others or generate illegal content via the product.
9. Desktop permissions
The app may interact with desktop icons you designate and sample foreground app names for local features. You control those assignments. Use at your own risk on your machine.
10. Intellectual property
The Desksquattaz software and branding are owned by us or our licensors. You retain ownership of content you create.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may stop using the app and request account deletion by emailing hello@desksquattaz.com.
12. Disclaimer and liability
Desksquattaz is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Entertainment software — not therapy or crisis services. In crisis situations the app may show plain resource information.
Our total liability for claims relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months, except where liability cannot be limited (including death/personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, and mandatory product liability rules).
13. Governing law
German law applies. Courts of Karlsruhe, Germany, have jurisdiction, without limiting mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence. EU ODR: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. Significant changes will be posted on this site or emailed at least 14 days before they take effect where practicable. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
