Desksquattaz is a desktop pet for Windows: Toastah, a deadpan box cat, lives on your real desktop with Tamagotchi-style care in real folders and his own Win95-style computer, the Meowputer, full of games. Some you play together, co-op, on the desktop. Free. Cat Plan adds chat and memory.

Long

Desksquattaz puts Toastah, a lilac box cat who arrived in a box marked TOASTER, onto your real Windows desktop. He keeps his own schedule: errands in the morning, a shift on his tiny Win95-style computer, naps, research trips that leave souvenir files on your desktop, and friends who drop by in the evening. My Stash, his food bowl, and his litter box are real folders. He relocates icons he disagrees with and never deletes anything. The free version is fully alive and mostly ignores you. Cat Plan is when he turns around: he chats, remembers you, and comments on your day. Everything else on your screen wants something from you. He doesn’t.
